Getting started

What exactly is REMBO Site?

It is the operating system for a beauty salon: online bookings, a till with M-Pesa and card recording, client and loyalty records, services and products, staff commission and advances, leave requests, expenses, daily reports and a public website for your salon. Everything runs in one place, and the numbers in your reports come from the same records your staff enter.

Do I need to install anything?

No. REMBO runs in a browser on any device: phone, tablet, till computer or laptop. Your data lives on the REMBO server, so a lost phone does not lose your bookings or client records.

How do I sign my salon up?

Open the sign-up page, create an owner account on the REMBO dashboard, and follow the onboarding steps to name your salon and choose an address. You will get a salon code and a private link for your staff and clients.

Does REMBO work in Kenyan shillings?

Yes. Prices, sales, expenses, loyalty and payroll are all held in KES, and reports are grouped by your salon day so the till total matches what you counted at closing.

Can I run more than one salon?

Yes. Each salon is a separate tenant with its own staff, services, pricing, branding and payment keys. Nothing leaks between them, and your owner account can hold several salons.

Bookings and website

Can clients book on their own?

Your public booking page shows available services, dates and time slots from your opening hours. The moment a client submits, the booking lands in the POS and the front desk is alerted.

How are busy slots handled?

The scheduler checks your salon working hours, closed days, table capacity and staff assignments before offering a slot, so a stylist or a station that is already taken cannot be booked twice.

Can clients see my prices and gallery?

Yes. Services and pricing, opening hours, gallery photos, contact details and social links are all published from the same records you maintain in the POS, and you choose which pages are visible.

Sales and payments

Does the POS take M-Pesa?

Yes. You can send an STK push to the client's phone from the checkout, and the sale settles itself when the payment callback confirms. Card, cash and pay-later can also be recorded, with a receipt for every sale.

How does staff commission work?

Commission is set as a percentage either per service or as a fixed salon rate. Each sold line stores what that stylist earned, and the payroll screen sums it by staff member and month, alongside advances and payouts.

What do loyalty points do?

Paid sales earn points from your earning rate, and clients redeem them at checkout. Points are tied to the client record, so they follow the client across visits and stylists.

Staff and roles

What can a staff member see?

A staff login gets a restricted desk: their commission for the month, salary payments made to them, their advance requests, their leave requests and balance, and bookings on the tables assigned to them. They do not see the till, other staff records or salon reports.

How are leave and advances approved?

Staff request leave with dates, a type and a reason, or ask for an advance. Managers and receptionists get an alert, approve or decline, and an approved advance is booked as an expense of type ADVANCE automatically.

Data and security

Is my salon data private?

Yes. Every query is scoped to your salon code, logins are session-isolated per salon, passwords are hashed, payment and SMS keys are encrypted at rest, and forms are protected against cross-site request forgery.

What happens if the internet drops mid-sale?

The sale is written in one database transaction and confirmed once connectivity returns. A pending M-Pesa payment is reconciled when you press Check on the Sales page, so a client is never charged twice.

Can I customise my website look?

Yes. Pick a theme, colours, fonts and layout, choose which pages are visible, and add your own logo and gallery photos from the POS.
